World Friends Volunteers utilize their knowledge and experiences to make positive differences in developing countries. During their service, volunteers learn about the insight and wisdom of local residents, which can be shared with their friends, families and colleagues at home. Knowledge obtained from their service is passed on to future volunteers, ensuring a smooth transition and sustained improvements of World Friends Korea.

World Friends Volunteers are grassroots coordinators for development cooperation. Working closely with local residents in small communities, they seek to find solutions to issues facing their host community in ways that do not violate local values. While local residents should play a leading role in sparking changes, volunteers are responsible for helping and nudging them to draw up and implement specific measures for change.

World Friends Volunteers embrace local cultures of their host country with an open mind, learning about local languages and exotic lifestyles. They share their experience in indigenous cultures with the rest of the world, promote the positive image of Korea across the globe and facilitate sincere bilateral exchanges

World Friends Volunteers make their own decision to participate in the overseas volunteer program to gain new experiences in a wider world and help eradicate poverty and promote sustainable development. They understand the true meaning and spirit of volunteerism and service, while respecting local customs and rules. In addition, they constantly make efforts to overcome their limits and build capacity through learning and soul searching.
