    CONCLUSION OF AN AGREEMENT ON VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
    • The Korean government and the counterpart country exchange notes on dispatching volunteers
  2. 2 step
    DEMAND SURVEY
    • Demand survey through the recipient government and relevant agencies (where volunteers work and what they do)
  3. 3 step
    ANNUAL BUSINESS PLANNING
    • Annual volunteer recruiting and dispatch planning based on the government budget allocation and demand survey results
  4. 4 step
    VOLUNTEER RECRUITING
    • Volunteer selection
    • International Cooperation Volunteer
    • (recommendation of applicants to the Military Manpower Administration following preliminary review final decision made upon appraisal )
  5. 5 step
    MILITARY TRAINING (ONLY FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION VOLUNTEERS)
    • Only for International Cooperation Volunteers
    • (special volunteers of the KOV program who replace one's military service with overseas volunteer work)
  6. 6 step
    PREPARATORY TRAINING (BEFORE DEPARTURE)
    • For 30 days
    • Classes for learning the local language, culture, health, safety and basic knowledge of ODA, etc.
    • Completion of the training course is mandatory
  7. 7 step
    DISPATCH
    • ispatch to assigned countries
  8. 8 step
    LOCAL ADJUSTMENT TRAINING (AFTER DEPARTURE)
    • For 8 weeks
    • Training for volunteers to accommodate to the local environment before they begin volunteer work
  9. 9 step
    VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY (SUPPORT AND MANAGEMENT)
    • Volunteer work under assigned organization of recipient country
    • Support and manage the volunteer activities through the local office(embassy) and volunteer program managers
  10. 10 step
    RETURN, EVALUATION, AND PROMOTION
    • Volunteer activity evaluation and promotion of success cases
    • Providing benefits for returnees including career counseling, scholarships, etc.
